Equivalence between two UV-A irradiation protocols

Pre-clinical outcomes on efficacy of the theranostic UV-A device for treating keratoconus

The pre-clinical results on the UV-A theranostic device for the treatment of keratoconus have been published
in the January 2019 issue of the prestigious scientific journal Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery.
In this manuscript, the authors Marco and Giuseppe Lombardo, have demonstrated how the device measures
in real time
the concentration of riboflavin in the cornea and how two different UV-A irradiation protocols succeed
in photopolymerizing the corneal tissue effectively. Thanks to theranostics it will soon be possible
to personalize corneal cross-linking treatment in order that it will be effective in every patient,
regardless of the treatment protocol chosen by the surgeon. Chromo4Vis will guide the eye surgeon
to perform each treatment effectively and safely.
